Ok, so you probably have no idea who a Hotdogger is and what a Hotdogger does.

Well, it’s one of us, the guys and gals who drive the Wienermobile, criss-crossing the country, looking for bridges that are high enough to drive under so we don’t get stuck . We thought it was only fair that you get to see the inside of the Wienermobile – including the people driving it. So, that’s why we created this blog. We hope you enjoy reading our stories and experiencing what being a Hotdogger is all about. We appreciate every wave we receive on the road and are thrilled you’re reading and commenting here.

We’ll try to respond if we can… (after all, there’s a lot of ground to cover). – The Hotdoggers

What’s the Buzz?

When you spend your days in the largest hot dog on wheels, you find yourself looking for other large roadside attractions when traveling.  I frequently hear the phrase, “Everything’s Bigger in Texas”, but I never expected to find the World’s Largest Killer Bee would be in Hidalgo.

In 1990, Hidalgo, TX was the first American city to witness the Africanized Honey Bee, also known as the “Killer Bee”.  Hidalgo became the “Killer Bee Capital of the World” by taking pride in the fact that although Killer Bees may sting, they also produce honey.  The Killer Bee is now Hidalgo’s official mascot.  It stands one foot shy of the 11-foot height of the Wienermobile vehicle.  And just like our large hot dog on wheels, the World’s Largest Killer Bee is also made of fiberglass!
