Not only did we rely on maps from states, counties and cities throughout our respective regions, but we were also without hand-held cell phones and internet; depending upon television, radio and newspapers for weather and traffic updates. The 1988 fleet of vehicles did come equipped with car phones... a wonder at the time that made the job that much easier.
