Ok, so you probably have no idea who a Hotdogger is and what a Hotdogger does.

Well, it’s one of us, the guys and gals who drive the Wienermobile, criss-crossing the country, looking for bridges that are high enough to drive under so we don’t get stuck . We thought it was only fair that you get to see the inside of the Wienermobile – including the people driving it. So, that’s why we created this blog. We hope you enjoy reading our stories and experiencing what being a Hotdogger is all about. We appreciate every wave we receive on the road and are thrilled you’re reading and commenting here.

We’ll try to respond if we can… (after all, there’s a lot of ground to cover). – The Hotdoggers

She LIKED Oscar Mayer, but She LOVED the Wienermobile

Smiley Kylie and I had the opportunity to meat Patricia and Ed, a couple that lives near Virginia Beach, VA, who were the lucky dogs that won the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile for a day through the contest on Facebook where anyone could simply “Like” Oscar Mayer to be entered.  After parking OH I WISH in front of their house, Patricia told us there was a party planned for two of their friends, Jens and Britta, who were visiting.

Above are the Facebook winners and their friends from Germany posing in front of OH I WISH (From left: Brian the Bunderful, Britta, Jens, Patricia, Ed, Smiley Kylie).

After explaining to Jens and Britta the significance of the Wienermobile we loaded up and headed for their party. Smiley Kylie and I told them that riding with us in the famed Wienermobile would surely make them feel like celebrities. Driving through the streets towards the party brought smiles to their faces as they realized people really did enjoy our vehicle and were taking pictures, waving, and smiling from every direction. Patricia, Ed, Jens, and Britta found out what it’s like to be a celebrity for a day, especially rolling up to the farewell party in style.

After everyone got their ride, Patricia and Ed invited us to stay around to share stories of our adventures and hear some of theirs as well.  They invited us in for a delicious home-cooked meal, something Smiley Kylie and I haven’t had in over two months.  It was nice to relax in the comfort of a home with a group of friends that enjoyed each other’s company.  We relished the opportunity to meet new friends.

Enjoying a good time with Food, Family, and Fun

We were glad to take part in Jens and Britta’s very first sighting of the Wienermobile as they may never again have such an opportunity.  Good luck and safe travels! Congratulations to Patricia and Ed, we’re glad you loved your experience.
