Salchicha Grande on South Padre

Salchicha grande means “large hot dog” in Spanish and  a “large hot dog” is exactly what could be found spreading miles of smiles on South Padre Island.

Picklin’ Pat and I were lucky dogs and got to drive LTL LINK, the “Mini” Wienermobile vehicle, for our time on South Padre Island.  Like the big dogs, LTL LINK is very photogenic; it must be in her BOLO-DNA.

We parked LTL LINK in front of South Padre Island’s water tower.  It was a beautiful day!  The clouds very much resembled the blue sky ceiling art in the Wienermobile.

While on South Padre Island, we learned that sharks are carnivorous and eat just about any animal in the ocean.  Sharks prey include snails to sea urchins, crabs, fish, stringrays, and Wienermobile Vehicles?

No worries; our coast to coast wiener roast will continue! This shark wasn’t a fan of our grilled fiberglass hot dog and lightly toasted bun.
