Ok, so you probably have no idea who a Hotdogger is and what a Hotdogger does.

Well, it’s one of us, the guys and gals who drive the Wienermobile, criss-crossing the country, looking for bridges that are high enough to drive under so we don’t get stuck . We thought it was only fair that you get to see the inside of the Wienermobile – including the people driving it. So, that’s why we created this blog. We hope you enjoy reading our stories and experiencing what being a Hotdogger is all about. We appreciate every wave we receive on the road and are thrilled you’re reading and commenting here.

We’ll try to respond if we can… (after all, there’s a lot of ground to cover). – The Hotdoggers

Rolling Down Route 66

After a fun week in Tennessee and Mississippi, it was time for the Midwest team to journey back home. During the trek north, we took advantage of the opportunity to cruise the most famous highway in the country– Old Route 66. We only drove a short stretch of the 2,448 miles between Chicago and Los Angeles, but BOLOGNA ate it up. Just look at that smiling front grill.

While rolling down Route 66, we stopped for lunch at Jubelt’s Bakery and Restaurant in Litchfield, Illinois.

We found a booth and the waitress handed us a build-a-burger checklist, filled with an incredible variety of potential hamburger ingredients. After deliberating for way too long, I finally opted for the most outrageous toppings available, creating a guacamole/feta cheese/pineapple/peppers/fried egg/pico de gallo/provolone/peppercorn hamburger. The bold choices paid off. SANDWICH SUCCESS!
