Ridge Ridin’ the Scenic Krauts
A temperature of 100 degrees and a heat index between 109 and 114 doesn’t seem like the ideal day for a bike ride. This type of weather, however, does nothing to stop the Ridge Riders of Jonesboro, AR.
Tate-yum and I met Joe, the Assistant Director of Cardiac Rehabilitation at the local hospital, in the parking lot of our hotel. After talking with him about the area, Joe mentioned that he runs a bike riding club called the Ridge Riders. Every Monday and Thursday they meat to bike the beautiful farmland of Arkansas. I’ve never had the opportunity to take a road bicycle for a spin. Not quite knowing what I was getting myself into, I accepted Jim’s offer to ride with The Ridge Riders.
This ride took me on a 26 mile tour of the surrounding area. It wasn’t easy, but I mustard up enough stamina to hang in with the group.
Later on, Tate-yum and I were invited to get some local food with him and his wife, Tracy. Afterward, we gave them both a ride of their own in the Wienermobile.

Tate-yum and I really enjoyed ourselves and wanted to sincerely frank Jim, Tracy, and all of the Ridge Riders for our time spent in Arkansas. It was really an experience to relish!
