Goodbye, WNR MBLE!
It’s time for us Hotdoggers to switch regions and partners! But that also means saying goodbye to our beloved Wienermobile. Watch this video as Dyl-icious says goodbye to the East region’s Wienermobile, WNR MBLE!
Well, it’s one of us, the guys and gals who drive the Wienermobile, criss-crossing the country, looking for bridges that are high enough to drive under so we don’t get stuck . We thought it was only fair that you get to see the inside of the Wienermobile – including the people driving it. So, that’s why we created this blog. We hope you enjoy reading our stories and experiencing what being a Hotdogger is all about. We appreciate every wave we receive on the road and are thrilled you’re reading and commenting here.
We’ll try to respond if we can… (after all, there’s a lot of ground to cover). – The Hotdoggers
It’s time for us Hotdoggers to switch regions and partners! But that also means saying goodbye to our beloved Wienermobile. Watch this video as Dyl-icious says goodbye to the East region’s Wienermobile, WNR MBLE!
After spending six months in the great northwest with Caileigh con Queso our time is quickly coming to an end. We have had so many franktastic adventures together it is almost hard to keep track!
We’ve gotten our paws dirty in four National Parks.
A few bunderful beaches have been crossed off our bucket lists.
And we were able to bring the Wienermobile to some of the greatest cities in the country.
Before we had to say goodbye, Caileigh con Queso gave me the best doggone gift a Hotdogger could get, a scrapbook full of our memories together!
Thank you IWSHIWR for bringing us together! I will never forget the adventures we’ve shared.
One Wienermobile, millions of smiles, and hundreds of cities equals one amazing year for Hotdoggers. I’ve been lucky enough to share the first six months of my adventure on wheels in the Midwest with my franktastic co-pilot Beefy Brian. We’ve shared laughs, smiles, bunderful food, and amazing stories. From 100 degree weather to below freezing, corn fields to winding roads, great plains to rolling hills, New York to Minnesota, Kentucky to Nebraska and everywhere in between, this dynamic duo has seen quite a lot. Frankly, it’s been buns of fun.
We started out Midwestern journey in Wisconsin and headed east to Beefy’s home state of New York. It was my first time to the state so we thought we’d put on our tourist hats and visit Niagra Falls. We threw on our ponchos and boarded the Maid of the Mist. There were no soggy buns for these two Hotdoggers!
From there we headed Detroit the, Motor City, to see the 1952 Wienermobile in all of it’s hot dog glory. It was nice to see the history of the iconic vehicle and the road to it’s position in American history and pop culture. It may be 59 years old, but the buns still sparkled like it came out of the shop yesterday.

Sometimes we took the job a little too seriously…
We did our part to help end hunger in by participating in the Share Your Holidays telethon to benefit Second Harvest of Southeastern Wisconsin. Beefy and I had a santariffic time!
It’s been a fun ride with Beefy and I’ll never forget all of the incredible adventures we had. Though we’ll be on complete opposite sides of the country in one month, we’ll always have those great Midwest memories.
As a little link everyone always told me how much I was like my Great Grandma K. Even though I never got to meat her, I’ve always admired her and her adventurous life.
As a young girl my mom’s summers were spent with her sisters in San Diego at Grandma K’s house. I’ve always wanted to visit this house where so many of my mom’s fondest memories were made. I never thought in a million years the Wienermobile would be the vehicle to bring me!
With an old photo in hand, Yoli Bologna and I maneuvered our buns through the streets of San Diego in search of Grandma K’s old house. I was in disbunlief when we arrived and saw how little the house had changed over the past 45 years. It was truly a moment to relish.
About once a week, we take IWSHIWR to a local fire department to soak up some suds and spend quality time with hometown heroes. While visiting and working alongside the firefighters, we quickly begin to feel as though we’re truly a part of the pack. But although we can talk the talk, the Redmond, Oregon fire department wanted to see if we could walk the walk.
Bacon Lettuce & Taylor and I are two Hotdoggers that just don’t turn down a challenge. So, we suited up and put our skills to the test! It was a doggone close race. Check out our video to see how we did.
Spreading miles of smiles across the country is one of the most buneficial parts of being a Hotdogger. How could a job driving across America in a Wienermobile spreading smiles get any better? Sharing your experience with the people you love back home! Thats why I invited one of my best friends out to Seattle to meat IWSHIWR grill-to-grill.
Angus Dog Alex of course shared my passion for the Wienermobile and for the franktastic city of Seattle.
Bringing Angus Dog Alex into my hotdoggin’ world was a doggone good time that I will relish for years to come.
What goes together with a ‘dogger from Wisconsin and a wiener on wheels? Why cheese of course!
You may think I’m one cheesy weenie for wearing a piece of cheddar on my head, but frankly I wouldn’t have it any other way.
As a way to keep track of the states I’ve been visiting, I send photos to my family every time Yoli Bologna and I cross a state line. From Texas to Wyoming, and everything in between, my Cheesehead state count is now at a whopping 8!
As the first half of our coast to coast weenie roast is almost done, I don’t think I could have asked for a better region than the Southwest to start this adventure. The view over the bun box has been filled with skyscraper lined streets, dessert landscapes, mountainous views and ocean side beauty. Here are a few of the Southwest views from over the bun box that I am going to truly miss as I move on to a new region.
The bun-believable colors and rock formations of Sedona, Arizona, are truly a sight to see, and after the one day we drove through this beautiful town, I know I will be back again soon.
The lights of Las Vegas, Nevada, are considered marvelous by many but when looking at the view over the bun box, its like seeing a whole new city. The Wienermobile steals the spotlight driving down Las Vegas Blvd. and I am the lucky dog driving this hot dog hot rod.
While Southern California has its own franktastic views, this is one view over the bun box that I will never forget. It is this Los Angeles traffic that tested our ability to maneuver our buns and taught me that I can now drive just about anywhere!
And finally, this is the view over the bun box during our first snow in early October while visiting Cheyenne, Wyoming. I never sausage a thing so early in the year and know that there is plenty more snow filled days to come as we enter into the winter season.
For one year, I am a lucky dog that gets to drive the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile. While on the road, I have been able to check out some other forms of transportation that are just as exciting. OH I WISH has already taken me to see planes, trains and automobiles…
…as well as hot air balloons, fire trucks and rockets!
As fun as all these look, there is no way I will hand over the Wienermobile keys!
The Wienermobile is arguably one of the most iconic vehicles ever created. There are times though, while I’m on the road that another vehicle will also catch my eye. Luckily YUMMY didn’t have to get her wheels wet in order to cozy up next to the Bat Boat. It was an honor to wear the bat mask and bat cape for the day but I’ll stick to Hotdogging.
