Hot dogs give you wiiiiiiiings!!

As Hotdoggers, we have an affinity for mobile marketing of all kinds.  Although the Wienermobile is obviously our favorite piece of Americana on wheels, we can’t help but be impressed with others.  When Hammi Sammi and I came across the Red Bull mini in Beverly Hills, we couldn’t help but flaunt our hotdogging skills! Here is a picture of the Red Bull mini from “shotbun” in I WSH IWR!

10Hot Dog Grills and the Hollywood Hills

For anyone who has visited the Hollywood sign, you know that getting close enough for a good photo- op is pretty tricky.  Imagine trying to maneuver up the hills of Hollywood in a 27-foot-long hot dog!  Well, Hammi Sammi and I were brave enough to take on this task in the Wienermobile!  Don’t worry, we were very careful not to scratch our buns!  And the pictures we were able to take of the two American icons together were well worth our tricky trek!

Hot Dog Love at First Sight…

One of the most exciting parts about being a Hotdogger is getting to hear stories from the earlier days of the Wienermobile.  Everyone seems to have a fond memory of the giant hot dog on wheels, and if not, we are more than willing to help them make a new one!  Much to our delight, Kathy approached us in Corona, California and told us that she met her husband, Dale, in front the Wienermobile!  In 1954, the unsuspecting lovebirds (in elementary school at the time) visited what is now the Corona Civic Center.  They both must have been in awe of the Wienermobile, because neither realized that their soulmate was standing just a few feet away!  A few years later the happy couple were sharing stories and their fun day with the Wienermobile happened to come up!  Now, anytime the pair is lucky enough to see the Wienermobile they share a heartfelt hug.  Kathy and Dale will be celebrating their 44th anniversary in July, and we wish them many more years of hot dog happiness!

Everything’s bigger in Texas, especially the hot dogs!

It is always a treat for a Hotdogger to get to bring the Wienermobile to his or her home state.  I was quite the lucky dog and got to cross the Texas state line in style!  Hammi Sammi even got introduced to some of the wonders of Texas at “The Big Texan Steak Ranch” in Amarillo.  We were surrounded by Texas flags, barbecue, and tumbleweeds…doesn’t get much better!  Everyone was quite impressed with our giant hot dog on wheels and we fit right in.  After all, everything IS bigger in Texas!

I’ll take hot dogs over lobster anyday…

In Maine, lobsters are almost as big of a deal as hot dogs. Mr. Beeftastic and I not only got to try some tasty Maine lobster, we also got some pretty cool lobster hats and we got to go fishing for lobsters ourselves! We had an absolute blast! The lobster was pretty yummy, but I still prefer Oscar Mayer wieners!

Big Bun, it’s cooold outside!

In Fort Lee, NJ, Mr. Beeftastic and Top Dog Tara had their first taste of a Wienermobile winter.  The Wienermobile got covered in snow, and became quite a “chilly” dog!

Hotdoggers at the Magic Forrest!

During our time with the Mini Team, the girls and I got to visit Lake George, New York.  There, we found possibly the most magical place in the world–The Magic Forrest! A few of the highlights of this magical wonderland were a giant Uncle Sam statue, what I believed to be the realSanta Clause, a ferris wheel, a carousel, a potato sack slide, the scariest rollercoaster we had ever ridden, and an entire section of the park devoted to every fairy tale ever written!  As drivers of the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile, Meaty Magaly, Bunderful Beth, and I thoroughly enjoyed all of the hot dog inspired displays (and who wouldn’t?) We even invested in some awesome hot dog hats that made everyone else in the park super jealous!  This was definitely one of the more random and interesting days on the road!

Big Bun and BIG bugs!

While visiting the Shenandoah Caverns in Virginia, Mr. Beeftastic and Top Dog saw so many cool things! The caverns were beautiful, and the people there were so great to us! One of the many highlights of the trip came when we saw a giant bug fashioned after a Cooties game piece!  We both remembered the game from our childhood, and this bug was just the right size for Big Bun to play too!
