Life Inside the Wienermobile Vehicle

Stories from the road

Visit to the Dover Boys & Girls Club

Delaware…also known as America’s “First State” is full of great things to do. While in the state’s capital of Dover we stopped by the Boys & Girls club. The kids were so happy to see the Wienermobile they could hardly contain their excitement. After tours, games and Wiener Whistles all the kids posed for a group picture. Say….”HOT DOG!!!”

A Legendary Designer

1936 Model

1936 Model

The Wienermobile has taken many shapes since its debut in 1936. As you can see, the original model looks a lot different than the one you will come across on the road today.

While in Milwaukee, WI we ran into the family of Brooks Stevens who designed the 1958 Wienermobile. Brooks Stevens was a well-known industrial designer of his time and worked on everything from lawnmowers to a Wienermobile. He’s quite the legend and it was an honor meeting his family.

OUR DOG Drives the Blue Ridge Parkway

It was a BUNderful day in Roanoke, VA so we decided to take OUR DOG for a leisurely drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway. The road winds 469 miles from the Shenandoah Valley in Virgina to the Great Smokey Mountains in North Carolina. We only drove about 20 miles of it but it sure was gorgeous. Check out the views!

Hotdoggers Ride the Autobahn

Ok, so maybe we didn’t take the Wienermobile for a ride on the real Autobahn, but we did ride the Autobahn sausage buffet at Schmidt’s Sausage Haus in Columbus, Ohio!

We couldn’t think of a better place to dine with a 27-foot-long German wiener than at this local landmark. The food was fabulous! Danke!

Wisconsin Cheese!

Rochester, NY – Both Victory Dog Victoria and I hail from the frankstatic dairy state of the Midwest. Nothing screams home like Wisconsin cheese and the friendly staff at Wegman’s thought we’d like a taste. The store broke into a huge wheele of white and yellow cheddar and we just couldn’t pass it up. Franks for the sample!! It was bunderful!

A taste of home!

Celebrate Life with Ketchup!!

All summer long Hotdoggers having been touring the country learning how people in different states like to top their hot dogs. As you can see, this man’s favorite topping is clearly ketchup. How much Ketchup do you think it would take to top a hot dog the size of the Wienermobile??

Birthday Ride

Keene, NH – OUR DOG stopped by the offices of C&S Wholesale for an afternoon grill-out. One of the employees we met told us he had always wanted a ride in the Wienermobile! Turns out it was his birthday, so we made his birthday wish come true and took him and 3 of his colleagues for a ride!

A Labor Day Grill-Out to Relish

All summer long people could enter to win a Labor Day grill-out with the Wienermobile. Sherri from Rhode Island was the lucky winner!

In true Wienermobile style, we pulled up to celebrate with her family and friends. And, what Labor Day grill-out would be complete without hot dogs roasting on the grill. After a delicious meal, the whole gang gathered to sing us the jingle.

Thanks Sherri! It was a FRANKtastic day!

Hot Dogs!!

One of my favorite things about being a Hotdogger is hanging out with all the real dogs that come to visit us at Wienermobile events. Meet these two Dachshunds. They were just dying to get their picture taken like everyone else this summer. Looks like they like to eat their hot dogs plain.
