Ok, so you probably have no idea who a Hotdogger is and what a Hotdogger does.

Well, it’s one of us, the guys and gals who drive the Wienermobile, criss-crossing the country, looking for bridges that are high enough to drive under so we don’t get stuck . We thought it was only fair that you get to see the inside of the Wienermobile – including the people driving it. So, that’s why we created this blog. We hope you enjoy reading our stories and experiencing what being a Hotdogger is all about. We appreciate every wave we receive on the road and are thrilled you’re reading and commenting here.

We’ll try to respond if we can… (after all, there’s a lot of ground to cover). – The Hotdoggers

Surfin’ USA

One of the most important items on my to-do list while traveling through the Southwest was to go surfing. I got to try the ultimate California pastime the other day thanks to my friend John, one-time Hotdogger and current power agent in Los Angeles.

The water was a little chili, but I mustard up the courage to take the plunge.

It was a morning of surfing wax, wetsuits, and wipe-outs, and I’m happy to add surfing to my list of new experiences while Hotdogging!

OH YEAHHHH!!!!

While kicking it with some other Kraft Foods fans, I came across one of my childhood icons – The Kool-Aid Man! We immediately launched into his signature pose:

What would you do with the Wienermobile for the day and $5000?

That’s the question that’s on everyone’s minds these days, as us Hotdoggers cruise across the Hot Dog Highways.   Would you take it to a local charity? Throw a big cookout in your local park and invite the whole town? Visit a nursing home?

To enter, you can “meat” up with the Wienermobile at one of our events (check the “Where We Are” tab at the top of this page), or you can enter online at http://www.kraftbrands.com/goodmoodmission/#/section/save/offer/hotdog.

To everyone: good moods, and good luck!

Bread, Butter, Cheese, Victory!

One of the great joys of visiting a big city like L.A. is the wide variety of local events you get to check out – queso in point: The 8th Annual Grilled Cheese Invitational! This sizzling event attracts grilled cheese connoisseurs from across the country to delight in the never-ending pursuit of the perfect grilled cheese “sammich”.

On a sunny, brie-zy day in downtown Los Angeles dozens of chefs prepared their finest grilled cheeses for some incurdibly hungry attendees.

For a guy who spent much of his youth munching on grilled cheeses, this was more than just a gouda way to spend the day – it was the fulfillment of a childhood dream! Sunshine, sammiches, and smiles without having to spend a lot of cheddar – plenty of reasons to cheese it up!

Hanging out with the Feria Tour

While in the L.A. area, Guac’alupe and I have been having buns of fun spending time with the Feria tour. “La Feria del mercado y de la salud” is a campaign that visits different grocery stores to give out free samples and coupons of many different Kraft products (including delicious Oscar Mayer  hot dogs) to hungry shoppers.

This tour also spices things up by blasting music, leading dances in the parking lot, and running raffles throughout the day! We’ve been having a blast bringing the Wienermobile along to these appearances, and we love seeing how happy we can make shoppers with tasty food, lively music, and great people! It doesn’t get better than this!

Oh, the places we go!

Congrats to us, today was our day! From Phoenix to Las Vegas, it was quite a drive day. With brains in our head and shoes on our feet, we took a wayward route – ’twas really quite neat! We headed out of town, to the wide open air, driving through Joshua trees without worry or care!

We were on our way west, seeing great sights! Spreading miles of smiles ’til the Las Vegas lights. And did we succeed? Yes, yes indeed! We cruised down The Strip at a very safe speed.

So if you see us in Vegas, be sure to say hey - chat and get a whistle, before heading your own way!

Red Hot Chile Peppers

We’ve been road trippin’ around the world with the Wienermobile, but do you know the best place to find red hot chile peppers? I’ll give it away – Las Cruces, New Mexico! Located just on the other side of the border with Mexico, what this town lacks in snow – hey oh does it make up for with delicious food!

By the way, for authentic New Mexican cuisine to take you to higher ground, there’s none better than Napolito’s family restaurant! Franks for cooking up such tasty chiles for me and my friends!

Hot Rods and Hot Dogs

While stopping at an Albertson’s grocery store in Las Vegas, we were visited by Vincent – a fan of hot rods and hot dogs! He pulled up his tricked-out ride next to our Lambor-wienie for a great photo-op:

Franks for coming to hang out with us!

At first I was afraid, I was petrified . . .

. . . at the Petrified Forest National Park in AZ!

But then I realized it was just mother nature showing off! Check out some of the incredible sights of the “painted desert”!
