Life Inside the Wienermobile Vehicle

Stories from the road

Just “Horsing” Around

My sister and I both have very different occupations than most people. I drive the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile and my sister works as an Assistant Barn Manager at a ranch. On my way through North Carolina I stopped by for a visit to the ranch.

She thought that since I brought my work “vehicle”, she should bring hers.

Dollar (her horse) was more interested in the Wienermobile than taking pictures, so we let her take a look inside!

Goats, Giraffes, and Monkeys!

When us Hotdoggers are on the road we see a lot of cool things. One thing that we are hoofs over heels about are animals! Here is Deli Fresh Danica going baaaaaaaananas over this goat.

Then here’s a shot of Tailgaitin’ Traci with a Giraffe.

BUN FACT: The word “giraffe” came from the Arabic word, “zirafah.” This means, “the tallest of them all.

Our next photo is a shot of me monkeying around before an event.

Keep checking out our blog for more animal and Wienermobile adventures!

Hot Dog at First Sight

The Oscar Mayer  Wienermobile is an incredible vehicle not only because of the amazing design, but also because of the life changing moments it has created for me and many others.  Driving this iconic hot dog on wheels has allowed me a job where I can have fun and make people smile every day. Oh, and on top of that I get to travel the United States in the coolest company car around. Less than 400 people have held the coveted position of Hotdogger. Here is my story:

The first time that I ever saw the Wienermobile was October 30, 2010. It all started out at a friend’s wedding. It was getting late and the wedding reception was starting to wind down.  My friends and I left the celebration to catch a movie. As I was walking out of the theatre there it was driving down the road…the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile!

I had only ever seen it on TV and the sight of it filled me with energy and excitement. I began jumping up and down yelling, “IT’S THE WIENERMOBILE!” My friends came out with smiles and excitement on their faces too. Without even thinking twice I began to chase after it. I ran two blocks before it finally pulled over at a local restaurant. When I finally caught up to it I looked at in in awe and pulled out my camera to take some photos in case I never saw it again.

As I walked around the vehicle for a 360 tour the thought came to me…is this a job I could apply for? The next day I went online to do some research and who would have known that a few months later I would receive an offer to be an official driver of the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile, or as my official title states, Hotdogger. Only twelve people are hired each year to drive this vehicle so I am one lucky dog to have cut the mustard. I look back at that October 30th day and think about all the moments that fell perfectly into place so I wouldn’t miss the Wienermobile. If I had left the wedding early, if I hadn’t gone to the movie, if I had left early without waiting for my friends, I may not be here with the Wienermobile today. I feel as though this job was meant for me.

When I see the excitement on other people’s faces as we cruise down the interstate or pull into an event, I am always reminded of the first time I saw the Wienermobile. I’ll never forget my first time behind the driver’s seat!

I hope you enjoyed my story of the first time I ever saw the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile. I look forward to seeing you out there on the road!

Homeruns and Hot Dogs

“Hot dogs and baseball…they are perfect together!”

That is a common phrase I often hear while on the road with the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile. And, I agree, they are perfect together. Before I sit down in the stand I swing by concession to pick up a delicious stadium hot dog. Recently I took the Wienermobile to the Louisville Slugger Factory and parked it right out from next to a giant sized baseball bat. This size of it almost makes the Wienermobile look small enough to eat.

What is your favorite sport food or snack? My obvious choice is an Oscar Mayer Hot Dog! The Wienermobile here looks perfectly delicious!

Bee all that you can Bee.

Bees are attracted to bright flowers and apparently the brightly colored Wienermobile. When bees and the Wienermobile meat up that’s how honey mustard is made, wink, wink.

And you better BEElieve that they love their coupons! I’m sure that they are going to go back to the Bee Hive and tell all their friends about the Wienermobile and this great deal on Oscar Mayer hot dogs.
