Life Inside the Wienermobile Vehicle

Stories from the road

Hula-Hooping Hotdoggers

Out on the hot dog highways of America, us ‘doggers cover a lot of ground. From Cheyenne, Wyoming, to El Paso, Texas, and everywhere west to the ocean, I truly relished my 6 months spent in the Southwest with Yoli Bologna and RELSHME. In order for us Hotdoggers to do a dog-gone good job of spreading miles of smiles, we sometimes have to buckle our meat-belts and drive for hours at a time to make it to our journey’s end on time.

Yoli Bologna and I made sure to savor every state along the way by taking a break to get off our buns and give a “hello-hula” to every state sign we saw.

WEENR-ful Times in the South

For the past 6 months, Turkey Dog Tyler and I had our fair share of adventures in the South. It all started at Hot Dog High when we got to meat WEENR for the first time. We put on our meat belts and hit the hot dog highways on a great adventure.

From city to city and state to state

From city skylines to some time at the beach

From football stadiums to Fourth of July celebrations

From fishing  in Arkansausage to tubing in Alabama

From parasailing to new cities

It has all been a franktastic ride

Franks WEENR for all the bunderful memories!

In Hot [dog] Pursuit

Hotdoggers split the country into six distinct regions.  Therefore, we relish the rare opportunity to meat up on the road.  We had such an opportunity in the beginning of January when all of the teams headed back to Madison, Wisconsin for a week of training.  Kylie and I got to ketchup with the Southeast team in Indianapolis, who happened to be driving both LTL LINK and OHIWISH.

It is always a surprise to see one Wienermobile, so imagine the surprise when people saw three!

With her exceptional navigational skills and her pension for driving different styles of hot dog, Ketchup Kylie decided to lead the pack in LTL LINK.

I was riding in OHIWISH and needed to capture a photo of us in hot [dog] pursuit!

A KITT for Fun

The Wienermobile vehicles have met some pretty amazing people over the last 75 years.  But sometimes OHIWISH longs to meat some of her own.  In Knoxville TN OHIWISH, a celebrity in her own right, ran into a classic car from decades past.  Parked right next to us in the parking lot was none other than KITT, from the 1980’s television show, Knight Rider.

Just as David Hasselhoff and his automobile accomplice KITT spent their time fighting crime; Lucky Dog Lauren, OHIWISH and I spend our time spreading miles of smiles!

Dijon Know? KITT was originally a Pontiac Trans Am car.  OHIWISH is built on a W-Series GM Truck Chassis.  However, OHIWISH’s taillights come from a Pontiac Trans Am!  Those are some stylish signals!

Ain’t No Party Like a Hot Dog Party

We Hotdoggers make friends all over this great country of ours as we travel the hot dog highways. Naturally, when we return to cities, we relish the opportunity to ketchup with old friends.  If you are an avid reader of our blog, you may recall WNR MBLE’s run in with Indianapolis superfans Jean-erDog and Pickled Paige. Our franktastic friends let me know that they were throwing a HOT DOG PARTY in the beginning of January that just happened to coincide with a two Wienermobile stop in town.

Lucky Dog Lauren joined Ketchup Kylie and myself with our favorite mini-rolling-dog, LTL LINK. Everyone was elated to show off their homemade Wienermobile shirts.  We were impressed with their attention to detail!  We were also happy to enjoy some Oscar Mayer hot dogs with the franktastic bunch!

Buns of Fun in Pensacola

Since there are only six Wienermobile vehicles in the entire country, the opportunity to bump into another team is rare.  Lucky for the East team, Dyl-icious and I were able to head south for the warm and sunny beaches of Pensacola, Florida to visit Turkey Dog Tyler and Schnitzel Itzel!

We relished our time together as we swapped tales from the road, brain-stormed new hot dog puns, and hauled buns to the beach to catch a beautiful sunset!

Even WEENR enjoyed catching some rays on the beach with us!

Relaxing with YUMMY

YUMMY is one of the six Wienermobile vehicles that hail from Madison, Wisconsin. This vehicle knows all the great spots in Madison like enjoying a beautiful day by the lake.

YUMMY sure does look bunderful in this picture. If you also really squint your eyes, you can see the State Capitol in the background of the picture! Where is your favorite place to relax?
