Ok, so you probably have no idea who a Hotdogger is and what a Hotdogger does.

Well, it’s one of us, the guys and gals who drive the Wienermobile, criss-crossing the country, looking for bridges that are high enough to drive under so we don’t get stuck . We thought it was only fair that you get to see the inside of the Wienermobile – including the people driving it. So, that’s why we created this blog. We hope you enjoy reading our stories and experiencing what being a Hotdogger is all about. We appreciate every wave we receive on the road and are thrilled you’re reading and commenting here.

We’ll try to respond if we can… (after all, there’s a lot of ground to cover). – The Hotdoggers

Wienermobile visits Ronald McDonald House

The Wienermobile made a visit to the Ronald McDonald House while in Oklahoma City, OK.  We had a bunderful time with everyone!   Thank you for the dinner which was a change of pace from my usual diet of franks and beans.

Frank, Are You Following Me?

Dijon John and I aren’t the only riders in BOLOGNA. We have a friend who travels with us named Frank. Frank E. Furter, to be exact. When people see Frank strapped in his ‘meat’ belt, they go nuts (excuse me, they go hot dogs).

Over break, I was lucky enough to attend a sporting event at my old school. When I went to the concession stand to order a drink and a hot dog, I saw someone very familiar….

Frank followed me to Florida! Looks like Oscar Mayer hot dogs are popular with sports fans, too! I was so excited, I had to take a picture.

I guess Frank wanted to be back in BOLOGNA, because when I returned, he was sitting there safely in his seat.

Colorado Excursions at The Butterfly Pavilion

The Colorado Butterfly Pavilion was so much fun. Both Atta-Dog Adam and I were able to hold Rosie the tarantula, and see all the other interesting animals. The butterfly habitat had a special rain forest weather simulator to help the butterflies feel at home, so it was pretty humid. This was a great experience.

Anonymous man makes OHIWISH’s Day!

While driving the Wienermobile through Oklahoma we came to a toll road.  When it was our turn to pay the toll we were informed that indeed the man in front of us had paid it.  He was a huge fan of the Wienermobile and wanted to do something nice for his favorite 27 foot bun of fun.  I would like to give a formal frank you to the gracious anonymous man!

Soldiers’ Strength Outsizes Wienermobile

Dijon John, BOLOGNA, and I had a chance to ‘meat’ extraordinary soldiers from Alpha Company 132nd Brigade Support Battalion.

The exchange only further reminded me that the United States is home to the bravest men and women serving to protect our country in the military. I’m so proud that Oscar Mayer products, from hot dogs to deli shaved meats, are provided to Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines through commissaries, military cafeterias and beyond across the globe. When a hot dog can remind a self-sacrificing soldier of the comforts of home (such as grilling out with family) while on a tour of duty, that means all of the world me.

The Wienermobile vehicles visit about half of the more public US military bases each year making about 70 total stops. BOLOGNA has even gone overseas to Europe to thank U.S. military stationed across the continent.

This symbolizes how large a solder's strength really is.

Thank you, Troops. Please know that we support you and are thinking of you.

Butterflies, spiders and bugs oh my!

Cruisin’ Crystal and I decided to hit up the Butterfly Pavilion in Bloomfield, CO Little did we know what was in store for us. Not only was the staff very welcoming and eager to show us around, the pavilion itself was home to thousands of insects, big and small.

Let me preface this by saying that I hate spiders. I wouldn’t go as far as a saying that I’m arachnophobic but they definitely give me the creeps. Now, the feelings just expressed can’t compare to what I was feeling when I approached a staff member to see her handling a big tarantula is if it were a hamster. I’m sorry, this is just not normal.

It was only after much encouragement from Cruisin’ Crystal and a little nudging that I worked up the guts to have Rosie crawl across my hand. Surprisingly, it wasn’t that bad: just a little prickling here and there.

Overall, we had a great time learning about all the insects and trying to get butterflies to land on us in the pavilion. Definitely check it out if you’re in the area.

Ever-glad to Visit!

Lil Links Laura and I got to visit the Everglades while traveling through south Florida. We saw gators, pythons, and turtles a-plenty, and got some great pictures to prove how we just barely escaped certain death!

Hotdoggers, You Have the Floor

As Dijon John and I travel to the different capitals of beautiful Midwestern states, we find ourselves wanting the behind-the-scenes tours of the capitol buildings where policy talks and gavels drop. We were lucky enough to experience the inner sanctuary of the Iowa Capitol Building through snooping–with permission, of course!

When Dijon and I went through security, we unloaded Wiener Whistles into baskets to go through the x-ray machine. Suddenly, we were passing out Wiener Whistles and going for a personal tour with the head of security! If you’ve ever wondered where the magic happens in Iowa, you’re about to find out.

Celebrity Mascots, Cheddar’s Future

I have never been more excited than when I saw tons of Mascots at a festival in Houston.  Being a former Big Ten mascot, I was in Mascot Heaven!!!

Funny side story, while taking a photo with C. Rex I told him that my name was Cheddar and we got into a little bit of a cheese fight.  I conceded that Rex was the cheesiest, I mean come on he is.  We became friends and he vowed to continue to make Kraft Mac and Cheese the cheesiest which I appreciated.

Kristin Chenoweth + Wienermobiles + Flash Mob = Good Mood Mission!

When the Hotdoggers were asked to join the Oscar Mayer team and Kristin Chenoweth to kick off the Good Mood Mission campaign, there was only one word that came to mind: YES! Well, we were excited for a franktastic opportunity to work with such bunderful people, but YES was all we could manage at the time.

So we hit the highways to meet in Hot Dog Hollywood for an amayonnaising experience – leading a flash mob with Kristin Chenoweth to get everyone pumped up and in a good mood. The USC Trojan marching band was there, KIIS FM was our deejay, as well as four of the Wienermobile vehicles. The event marked the first million pound donation from the Oscar Mayer brand, and now it’s up to us to rally everyone in America to participate, so we can reach our goal of 2 million pounds!  It’s easy to participate – all you have to do is go to http://goodmoodmission.com and tell us what puts you in a good mood and a pound of food is donated to Feeding America. Post it to your Facebook wall, and tack on an additional five pounds. Become a fan of Oscar Mayer on Facebook and now you’re up to 10 pounds donated.

We could write all about it – but how about we show you instead…
