Hotdogging Rain or Shine
There are Wienermobile fans all over the country and when it rains, we Hotdoggers don’t disappoint. We’ll be there rain or shine because there are always blue skys in the Wienermobile.
Well, it’s one of us, the guys and gals who drive the Wienermobile, criss-crossing the country, looking for bridges that are high enough to drive under so we don’t get stuck . We thought it was only fair that you get to see the inside of the Wienermobile – including the people driving it. So, that’s why we created this blog. We hope you enjoy reading our stories and experiencing what being a Hotdogger is all about. We appreciate every wave we receive on the road and are thrilled you’re reading and commenting here.
We’ll try to respond if we can… (after all, there’s a lot of ground to cover). – The Hotdoggers

Cruisin’ Crystal and I decided to visit the infamous Alcatraz prison while staying in San Francisco. Leaving the Wienermobile behind, we strapped our sea-faring shoes on and crossed the harbor to “The Rock.” Walking through the cell-blocks, we were surrounded by the stories of famous outlaws and criminals, all incarcerated for different reasons.
All summer long Hotdoggers having been touring the country learning how people in different states like to top their hot dogs. As you can see, this man’s favorite topping is clearly ketchup. How much Ketchup do you think it would take to top a hot dog the size of the Wienermobile??
Southeast Team here, reporting from the regional fair in Athens, Tennessee! We have been sampling everything this fair has to offer – corndogs, fried chicken on a stick, bunnel cake (new pun!), watermelon seed-spitting contests, lawnmower races, and, best of all, roller coasters! Lil’ Links and I took a spin on both the rollicking Ring of Fire and the frolicking Zipper.
We couldn’t have had a more franktastic time at the fair, and the people of Athens couldn’t have been friendlier! We hope to ketchup with them next year at the fair – it was a real cotton candy dandy!
North Plains, OR – Professional golfers were not the only people driving on the golf course at the Safeway Classic LPGA Tournament. The Hotdoggers drove the Wienermobile right onto the green at the Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club so WEENR could witness all the action.
The Oscar Mayer team served free hot dogs to spectators as they watched hot shots like Michelle Wie and Natalie Gulbis compete in the golf tournament. We even fed some hungry athletes in dire need of carbs and protein.
I had never been to a golf tournament before, so going to the Safeway Classic was another new thing I experienced as a Hotdogger. Hearing people whisper in excitement upon seeing the Wienermobile is quite odd; it’s also safe to say that there were no Wiener Whistles that day – another anomaly in the world of Hotdoggers.
Maybe after my Hotdoggin’ days are over, I’ll take up golf. It seems like a relaxing enough past time like yoga or riding tandem bicycles. Plus, I found another cool Wienermobile I can drive upon retirement.
Keene, NH – OUR DOG stopped by the offices of C&S Wholesale for an afternoon grill-out. One of the employees we met told us he had always wanted a ride in the Wienermobile! Turns out it was his birthday, so we made his birthday wish come true and took him and 3 of his colleagues for a ride!
Many food vendors were present at the Amarillo food show with thier products in Amarillo, Texas. Miss Chiquita from the Banana brand, was one of the persons that took a break from its booth to take a picture with the Wienermobile. Christina, also relishes her job. As Miss Chiquita she has to wear a colorful and pretty fruit hat that weights eight pounds.

When Rachel Relish and I drove past a fire department and saw this gigantic dog, there was no way we could pass it up! This painted rock is a memorial for Sparky, an old fire department dog. We had to pull OUR DOG up next to Sparky and get a picture of these two cute dogs together; because its not every day that we find a dog bigger than ours!
People often ask how we Hotdoggers stay in touch while traveling hot dog highways across the country. (Contrary to popular belief, we all don’t appear if you blow on a weener whistle!) While we do all travel in different parts of the country, we still kethcup often and learn all about each other’s adventures!
Two little cuties donned their PJ’s and pink shoes to hold HD early in the morning. Who’s HD? Why, that’s our two foot hot dog, of course! But HD is fitting because it truly is the clearest, close-up view you will get of the delicious bun food. Oscar Mayer is on a mission to see how America tops our all Beef Franks this summer. So far, the strangest combination I’ve seen is ketchup, chili, sauerkraut and relish! But hey, if it tastes good to the tongue, that’s all that matters.
When you see a Wienermobile on the road, make sure you share your puns with us. I want to hear BUNches and BUNches of them (new pun)!
