Life Inside the Wienermobile Vehicle

Stories from the road

We Relish Replicas

As a Hotdogger, it’s super rewarding to spread miles of smiles across the country by bringing the Wienermobile to different corners of the continental US. So imagine our surprise when two boys from Goshen, Indiana brought their own homemade version of the bun of fun to us!

I never sausage a thing!

They really beefed up their toy car; Mmmk and I were very impressed to say the least.

Meeting of the Blogs

Atta-dog-Adam and I had the pleasure of being part of an event to raise proceeds for The Liz Logelin Foundation. Matt Logelin, the founder of the foundation, had family that flew from Minnesota just to be a part of the Wienermobile experience. Madeline and Matt joined us for a ride to a family barbecue after the event. The ride in the Wienermobile seemed to be an adventure for little Maddy, which ended with her falling asleep in her car seat. Safety first, so we made sure Maddy had her meat belt on before starting our journey back to her house. The day was filled with many generous people who follow Matt’s blog donating to the foundation and close friends and family enjoying Oscar Mayer hot dogs at the barbecue.

We already knew that the Wienermobile could serve many purposes (smile-causer, Wiener Whistle distributor and camera flash magnet) but we discovered another reason to hitch a ride with us: it can rock you to sleep after a very long day.

BBQ Friends

Rachel Relish and I relished the time we spent at BBQ Battle in downtown Washington D.C. We became great friends with the touring crew from Sunny D and the bunderful family from 3 B’s BBQ! Butch from 3 B’s BBQ even provided all of us with a delicious dinner of brisket, ribs, chicken and pulled pork. We were glad to meat these top dogs and we hope to ketchup with them again soon!

Franks for Your Concern

We were turning the Wienermobile around in a driveway, which is at the end of a dead-end street, and got into a bit of a pickle.  We are so relieved that no one was home and nobody was injured.  We promptly alerted police.  We are working with the local authorities and the appropriate insurance companies to fix the damage and sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause the homeowner.  We are back on the hot dog highways spreading miles of smiles today.  Franks everyone for your concern.

Nothing but T-bone fossils in Colorado

Traveling across Colorado Atta-Dog-Adam and I decided to head to the Colorado Dinosaur Museum to check out the history of dinosaurs in the rocky state. To our surprise this quaint little city of Fruita was excited to see us and ask about the reason for our visit.  We just wanted to see dinosaurs was our response. We had the pleasure of taking photos with a couple of travelers and headed back on the road to Utah where we had to stop and take a picture of the state line.

Lil’ Links Laura meets Laura Ingalls Wilder

Some of my favorite books as a child were the Little House on the Prairie series- it had adventure, fun, and a heroine with an amazing name! So when Doggone Dave and I saw a sign for the Laura Ingalls Wilder Historic Home, we had to take our Wienermobile Yummy to visit!

OUR DOG Visits Washington, D.C.

Victoria’s and I first stop on the road was our Nation’s Capital. We had some time to explore so we headed into downtown Washington, D.C. to check out some of America’s most famous monuments. Here we are at the Lincoln Memorial.

OUR DOG couldn’t make it all the way up the stairs so we made sure he got to see some of the sights as well. There he is near Capitol Hill. He’s so happy, his grill is smiling! Later we passed by the Pentagon and Arlington National Cemetery.

Take Me Out to the Bun Game

Baseball games are all about food, family and fun, which is exactly what Oscar Mayer is about! I couldn’t wait to get a hot dog when I went to a baseball game in St. Louis with BOLOGNA! Anyone who loves the sport involving a bat and a ball can truly appreciate the bunderfulness that is the Wienermobile. Even though Dijon John and I met fans from different teams, they did have one thing in common: they both LOVED our 27-foot-long hot dog on wheels!

Once we made sure everyone had entered our Labor Day Sweepstakes and had entered the ball park, Dijon and I packed up and were lucky enough to be given two tickets to the game! Not only did we enjoy singing songs of our past time, but we led a riveting version of the “Oh I Wish” jingle right there in the stands.

I snagged a picture of beautiful St. Louis, Missouri. Can you spot our beloved Bologna?!

Crossing into Illinois

People turn their heads when they see a 27-foot-long hot dog cross into their state. This photo was taken by an engineering professor who wanted to see BOLOGNA up close. Torey Toppings and I were delighted to hear that he wanted a photo of the Wienermobile to use as an example of unique design in one of his classes.
