Ok, so you probably have no idea who a Hotdogger is and what a Hotdogger does.

Well, it’s one of us, the guys and gals who drive the Wienermobile, criss-crossing the country, looking for bridges that are high enough to drive under so we don’t get stuck . We thought it was only fair that you get to see the inside of the Wienermobile – including the people driving it. So, that’s why we created this blog. We hope you enjoy reading our stories and experiencing what being a Hotdogger is all about. We appreciate every wave we receive on the road and are thrilled you’re reading and commenting here.

We’ll try to respond if we can… (after all, there’s a lot of ground to cover). – The Hotdoggers

Turning 22 with Class XXII

You never know what to expect as a Hotdogger; every day is filled with new experiences and franktastic surprises.  I was lucky enough to celebrate my 22nd birthday at Hot Dog High with my 11 bunderful buddies from Hotdogger Class XXII!

Class 22 surprised me with cupcakes on my 22nd birthday!

Class 22 surprised me at midnight with cupcakes on my 22nd birthday!

Later that day, we celebrated at a Madison Mallard’s baseball game.  I was surprised yet again when I was given the honor of throwing the first pitch of the game!  I was a weenie bit nervous, but I mustard up the courage.

I’d like to say “frank you” to the Madison Mallards and my top dog friends who made my birthday extra special.  I really felt like a wiener!

The Ride of a Lifetime

Madison, WI. Victory Dog Victoria here, checking in for the Class XXII Hotdoggers.  We have recently started training in Hot Dog High so we can begin our coast to coast wiener roast for the next year.  We are half way done with our training and will be hitting the hot dog highways shortly.  But before we hit the road with the Wienermobile we need to go through extensive driver’s training first.  We were all smiling from ear to ear when we first saw the Wienermobile vehicles and had even bigger smiles the first time we got to drive them.  It was definitely the ride of the lifetime. And I feel I can speak on behalf of Class XXII that we are beyond excited for this next year and we hope to see all of you out there!

My new car has a first name

Do you believe in love at first sight? I didn’t until I saw BOLOGNA today. Gull-wing door? Check. Bun roof? Check. A grinning bumper? Check again. BOLOGNA has every attribute I desire in a vehicle.

I’ll be driving BOLOGNA all across the Midwest for the next six months with my partner Torey Toppings. Be sure to wave if you see our buns!

Haulin’ Buns and Shootin’ Lasers

Though the Hotdoggers of Class XXII are a bunderfully fun group of friends, we have quite the competitive side as well!  We went to Ultrazone in Madison, WI where we crept around windy passageways, ran around a three-story, glow-in-the-dark arena and played a few intense games of laser tag.  Whether it was team play (Ketchup-colored vs. Mustard-colored) or every-dog-for-himself, we all broke a sweat and ultimately had buns of fun.

Despite the ending scores, we were all wieners.  However, I am pleased to say that I, A-Dog Alison, ranked first place in a particularly momentous game.

My First Drive in the WIENERMOBILE!

Madison, WI–

That's me in the front seat of the Wienermobile for the first time!!

I’ve always considered myself lucky to have seen the Wienermobile, so I never thought I would get the chance to get behind the wheel!! But, here I am at Hot Dog High learning how to drive the 27-foot-long bun of fun. It is no small dog, but surprisingly easy to maneuver. I can’t wait to hit the Hot Dog Highways out East with my partner Victoria. Ketchup with you soon!

Class 22: Welcomed with class

The 12 Hotdoggers representing Class 22 of Wienermobile drivers for the next year have arrived for training! When coming down the escalator at the airport in Madison, Wisconsin, the 14 Hotdoggers of Class 21 welcomed us in style, complete with flight suites, balloons, signs, and of course, the Oscar Mayer jingle. What a wonderful way to begin Hot Dog High!

Hotdogger Farewell: Class XXI

A lot can happen in a year.

Since the time Class XXI hit the hot dog highways twelve (short) months ago, babies have been born, people have gotten married, birthdays and holidays have come and gone, and a lot of hot dogs have been eaten!  Collectively, we’ve traveled thousands of miles and hit 48 states!  The Wienermobile smiled all along the way (check out the front grill for proof) and of course, so did we!  Now it’s time for one final farewell to the Wienermobile from Class XXI.  Thanks for all the miles of smiles!

Where’s “OH I WISH”?

look carefully!

look carefully!

This is the view from the top of Louisiana’s State Capitol in Baton Rouge.  However, somewhere in the picture is a Wienermobile!  See if you can find it.

Garden of the Gods

Colorado Springs, CO – Colorado is a new state for Bunderful Beth and I, so as soon as we got here we had to do some sightseeing!  We went to the Garden of Gods and saw rocks that dated back 275 million years!

As you can see, we got there just in time…this rock was about to fall over, but luckily I’ve been doing a lot of Wienerobics!

We relish the rapids of the Smokies (Not the links)

Pigeon Forge, TN– While in the smokies we got the opportunity to enjoy the remarkable scenery of the mountains while going down some class four rapids. (They only go up to six) We had a great time with the guides of 5 River Adventures; here are a couple of shots with Meaty Magaly and I. (I’m in the cool glasses and she is the one in the back closing her eyes.)
