Ok, so you probably have no idea who a Hotdogger is and what a Hotdogger does.

Well, it’s one of us, the guys and gals who drive the Wienermobile, criss-crossing the country, looking for bridges that are high enough to drive under so we don’t get stuck . We thought it was only fair that you get to see the inside of the Wienermobile – including the people driving it. So, that’s why we created this blog. We hope you enjoy reading our stories and experiencing what being a Hotdogger is all about. We appreciate every wave we receive on the road and are thrilled you’re reading and commenting here.

We’ll try to respond if we can… (after all, there’s a lot of ground to cover). – The Hotdoggers

Weenie-robics

Louisville, Kentucky- Kosair Children’s Hospital hosted an event for kindergartners to teach them important health lessons. Molly Mustard and I lead eager groups of kids in our favorite hot dog exercise….Weenie-robics! Here’s a few of our favorite moves:

Stretch as tall as the Wienermobile!

Be a hot dog!

Spin around, you’re cooking in the microwave….DING! You’re done!

With a side of American history

Richmond, Va- While in Richmond Virginia, Meaty Magaly and I learned a lot from the Civil War Memorial Museum. A must stop in while in Southeast.

Cheeseasaurus Rex is King!

It turns out that Wienermobile drivers and the Cheeseasaurus Rex have an equal admiration for each other.  He walked over to the Wienermobile astounded that it actually exists! We were in awe of his enormous tail, friendliness and hugs. All we could say in reply was, “feelings mutual Mr. Rex.”

Multnomah Falls

For those wishing for an escape from the busy city of Portland, Oregon, Multnomah Falls awaits.  The waterfall, which is the second tallest in the country, can be found flowing year-round and is definitely a sight to see.  Located along a scenic highway in the Columbia River Gorge, Multnomah Falls is one of many waterfalls in the area, but is in my opinion, the most incredible.  Oregon’s wilderness has many interesting places to explore, but Multnomah Falls is a must-see.

Lucky Dog

I know I am a very lucky dog.  I was born on one of the most famous days of the year: St. Patrick’s Day!  For this reason, it has always been my favorite holiday!  Every year I dress in green, wear shamrocks from head to toe and celebrate the Irish!  This year I will be spending my favorite holiday with the Wienermobile: a first, even for me!  The Wienermobile already has its fair share of ketchup red and mustard yellow, so we added a touch of relish green…just for good luck!

St. Patty’s Day

Baton Rouge–  Johnny Salami and I were lucky enough to participate in a Louisiana parade, where parades aren’t just events, but a certain way of life (eg. Mardi Gras).

Here’s a shot of OH I WISH all decked out ready to go, and another from the view of a bun-roof rider:

As the rain came through the bunroof and began to smear the “Kiss me, I’m an Irish Wienermobile” paint on OH I WISH’s hood, something marvelous happened.  Through shouts of “Give me a hotdog!” and, “I’ll take one with chili!” came a woman bearing 3 hotdogs. Oscar Mayer hotdogs to be exact, and they were as well decorated as we were.  Please note the green ketchup and mustard! Now its official; all Oscar Mayer Wieners love dressing up for the holidays!

Hot Dogs and St. Patty’s Day- Chicago Style!

Chicago, IL- I love St. Patrick’s Day, and there’s no place better to celebrate it than CHICAGO (I hear it’s even better than Ireland). Molly O’Mustard, my Chi-Rish (Chicago + Irish) Hotdogger partner navigated BOLOGNA through the city streets while I led the crowd in singing “IRISH I were an Oscar Mayer Wiener!”. If you couldn’t make it to the parade, check out some highlights on Youtube.

BIGBUN Takes the Cake!

McLean, VA- As most of you know we hotdoggers stay in and out of hotels while on our coast-to-coast wiener roast. When we were invited to Charm City Cakes in Baltimore, MD we thought the proper way to celebrate would be to BAKE!

Sadly, not many hotels have ovens, but we hotdoggers don’t give up so easy!  Adam and I got creative and managed to make a Wienermobile cake that impressed even the “Ace of Cakes”, Duff Goldman, himself!

A-Dog and Lunch Luvin’ Larisa’s recipe for what we like to call, Hotel Cake.

Hotel Cake

Ingredients

1/2 Sheet Cake (ask the bakery at your local grocery store for a cake without icing)

2 Tubs of Vanilla Icing (thick not whipped, this is important!)

Food Coloring

Icing Tubes for detailing

How-To Guide

1. Get Creative! Think of something “franktastic” and cut out a design on the plain sheet cake.

2. Make different colored frosting for your design

3. Use icing tubes to outline your finished product

4. Take a picture to show off your creation!

Cake comparison! Mary Alice and Duff from Food Network’sAce of Cakes” with me, Lunch Luvin’ Larisa!

Drawn to the Wienermobile

In Tampa, Florida I was lucky enough to get my portrait done by Sydney and Sabrina.

I think both pictures look really good and Sydney’s picture is almost directly to scale too!
