Life Inside the Wienermobile Vehicle

Stories from the road

In the Land of Originals…

Cruising in The Wienermobile keeps you on the lookout for other people’s original ideas, just like the one you are driving.  Throughout my Wienermobile journey, I have had the privilege to visit the first KFC and Pizza Hut!  Oddly enough, they are both in unusual places across America.  However, with a little bit of luck and careful attention, it isn’t too difficult to stumble upon the evidence of some innovative thinkers across America.  Who knows, hopefully soon you’ll even spot The Wienermobile!

For the Love of Lunch

Valentine’s Day is a time to celebrate the people you love, even if those “people” are 27 feet in length, shaped like a hot dog, and are resting on a lightly toasted fiberglass bun.  This Valentine’s Day, Bunderful Beth and I showed our Wienermobile how much we love it by decorating the inside!  We thought about doing the classic routine of flowers and chocolate, but figured a hot dog may not appreciate the gesture!

Happy Valentine’s Day from Bunderful Beth, All-Beef Allison and WEENR!

Palm Trees in California… and Nebraska?

Omaha, Nebraska-  With low temperatures freezing most of the country, I hugged the palm trees goodbye before hopping on a plane from California to the Midwest.  I thought it would be months before I would see sunshine again (forget palm trees) but check out what I found inside my hotel in Omaha!

All the right toppings

Portland, OR – Bunderful Beth and I visited one of Portland’s quirkiest attractions: The Hat Museum.  There were 1,000’s of hats dating all the way back to the late 1800s.  We got to try a couple of hats on ourselves, but none were big enough to fit WEENR!

Amazing Keychain Collection

Where are the keys?

Where are the keys?

Portland, OR- Wow!  Although there are a lot of beauties on this keyring, my personal favorite is yellow, orange and hotdog shaped.  Now, who has the keys?

Coolest Museum Ever!

Here I am riding an elephant at the City Museum in St. Louis Missouri. There were all types of fun and interesting things to do and see. Including a slide that is seven stories high!

Full Circle with Andrew Thompson!

To begin with, check out this video of Andrew Thompson the 4-year-old winner of the Oscar Mayer Jingle contest in 1997 on Oprah.

Andrew on Oprah

How adorable? And how talented?!

In January, Adam and I had the opportunity to surprise Andrew on his 16th birthday in Tennessee. We decorated BIGBUN with streamers, ballons and even a “Happy Birthday” banner.  Then we waited for Andrew to arrive.

SURPRISE!

When he arrived at his  party Andrew and all of his friends checked out the decorated Wienermobile and then took a ride around his hometown, had breakfast for dinner (Andrew’s favorite!) and even dropped him off at dance practice at the end of the evening!

And don’t think we hauled buns without getting him to sing for us!

Andrew Thompson Sings Again!

Adam and I would like to thank the Thompson family and friends for including us in Andrew’s birthday festivities and for sending us on the road with homemade cinnamon rolls! It was an honor to hang out with this talented group of teenagers and hopefully, someday,  aspiring hotdoggers!

…although they all showed up Adam and I with their singing and dancing skills!

Future Hotdogger?

Omaha, Nebraska- Little Aspen says she prefers the teenie-weenie pedal car to the big dog.

Why?     “This one fits in my garage!”

Some lucky dogs at our events in the Midwest have been sending Wienermobile Valentines. Think you cut the mustard?  Watch your mailbox! Maybe a special someone sent a note.

Wienerdogs

With Chihuahuas being very popular this year it seems natural that they might strive to be the most famous dog of them all. A hot dog! Her name is Cookie and here she is enjoying the sun by the Wienermobile in her home town of Porter Ranch, California.
