Ok, so you probably have no idea who a Hotdogger is and what a Hotdogger does.

Well, it’s one of us, the guys and gals who drive the Wienermobile, criss-crossing the country, looking for bridges that are high enough to drive under so we don’t get stuck . We thought it was only fair that you get to see the inside of the Wienermobile – including the people driving it. So, that’s why we created this blog. We hope you enjoy reading our stories and experiencing what being a Hotdogger is all about. We appreciate every wave we receive on the road and are thrilled you’re reading and commenting here.

We’ll try to respond if we can… (after all, there’s a lot of ground to cover). – The Hotdoggers

Adventures of Ketchup Bear

Omaha, Nebraska and Kansas City, Missouri- My friend Anthony has some serious skill! He won this ketchup colored bear from a claw game in a grocery store. Most kids would keep the bear to add to their collection, but not Anthony. He sent “Ketchup Bear” on a Wienermobile adventure! I promised to deliver Ketchup Bear to the Ronald McDonald House where some kids in need of a smile could enjoy him. Franks for your generosity Anthony, Ketchup Bear loved his ride in the Wienermobile, and the kids at the RMH think you’re “top dog”!

Whatcha saw in Wichita

Hey there, Kansas!

Hey there, Kansas!

While in Wichita, KS, Alana Pickles and I came across this beautiful model of a Kansas town from the 1950’s.  We marveled at the architecture and layout of the town while taking notice of the fine detail put into the exhibit.  Not only did it have cars, named buildings, trees and people, but also two trains that ran through the town at the push of a button.  To say we were impressed would be an understatement. Who knew throughout our travels we would go back in time to a small town in Kansas?

The Wienermobile “meats” another hot dog car

While in Tampa Florida we stopped by Mel’s Hot Dog stand where he managed to craft his own hot dog car out of a VW Beetle. A very cool sight, but nothing compares to an Oscar Mayer Wienermobile.

Haulin’ Buns!!

I owe it all to my fans...really!

I owe it all to my fans...really!

So we all know the Wienermobile isn’t exactly racing material, so when I feel the need for speed, I head to the race cars!  I ran into this speed machine in Jacksonville, FL and believe me, it was tough to “ketchup” to.  Although they wouldn’t let me drive it, I did strike my finish line pose that I’ve been practicing in front of the mirror for months now.  Seeing this car was awesome, but we all agreed The Wienermobile had the edge when it came to style points.

Snake River Canyon

Twin Falls, Idaho-  Hamanda Cheese, Lunch Luvin’ Larisa, and WEENR enjoyed the view of Snake River Canyon, but Evil Knievel wasn’t content with simply site seeing. He attempted to jump the canyon in a rocket powered motorcycle in 1974.  Did he make the jump? Watch the video to find out!

Something Fishy…

WEENR at Pike's Market

WEENR at Pike's Market

Seattle, WA – Perhaps the most famous part of town, Pike’s Market in Seattle welcomes hundreds of tourists each day.  The people that worked there were surprised when we stopped by with WEENR for a visit.  The fishermen were interested in the Wienermobile, but we were equally as interested in learning about their jobs!  They even let us get a feel for it by shoveling ice.

Beth and Allison try their hands at shoveling ice

Throwing fish around seemed fun, but I think I’ll stick to the hot dog business for now.  The smell is much better!

Our First Snow

Ok, so I’m from South Florida so when I woke up and saw all of this snow outside, I was super excited. This was also LTL LINK’s first snow because he was born in March in California. I would have never thought that my first time driving in the snow would be in a Mini Wienermobile!

WNR MBLE at the Grand Canyon

Top Dog Tara and I had the honor of driving WNR MBLE from Madison, WI to Santa Barbara, CA.  Along the way we saw everything from a meteor site in Winslow, AZ to the Grand Canyon!  We arrived at the Grand Canyon right before sunset and were lucky enough to capture this cool picture.

300 years young

Vacherie, LA – The tour guide called this sight the “most beautiful view in all of Louisiana.”  I’ve only visited a few cities in the Creole State with the Wienermobile, but I think he might be right. The trees lining the walkway of Oak Alley Plantation are about 300 years old with a life expectancy of just six centuries. Hurry! Visit before they’re gone.

How'd you like that for a front yard?

Now that's a pretty front yard.

WEENR enjoys the view!

One of the best parts of hotdogging around America is the view!  We like to enjoy the scenery through the windshield of our giant hot dog and our drive from California to Oregon was no exception!  Bunderful Beth and I pulled over for photo ops a few times that day.  While we’re taking pictures of our surroundings, people are surrounding us to snap a few pictures of the Wienermobile!!
